Alicante 14th June to 29th June
Alicante's Bonfires of San Juan or Hogueras is one of the largest Fiestas in Spain and is held over midsummer. The dates the Fiesta for 2013 are 14th June to 29th June. If you are lucky enough to be anywhere near Alicante during these days it is well worth a visit. Gran Alacant is only a short bus ride from Alicante and the bus service is very good.
Gran Alacant Midsummer's Eve
On Midsummer's Eve fires are lite all along the coast and parties held on the beach all night. If you are in Gran Alacant during that time ask about details for the community fire on the beach and make arrangements to go along to the party. You will be more than welcome, just take your own drink and snacks.
Santa Pola 31st August to 8th September
Santa Pola Moors and Christians Fiesta in honour of Virgen de Loreto is held from 31st August until 8th September every year with enactments in the streets and processions and firework displays. Buses normally run late in to the night from Gran Alacant to Santa Pola during the Fiesta.
